Tatterdemalion: Chapter 10
This is the tenth chapter of my novel Tatterdemalion, the one that's starting to generate some buzz among my beta readers. The text is probably too small without extreme magnification (just click on the link and read the document directly on Scribd's website) but this is mainly to show you the cover I'd had professionally done two days ago by Samantha Hensler at Ebook Covers Galore. It cost me a pretty penny and I'll still need to pony up another $35 when it comes time to do the Create Space edition. But the way I look at it, it's like going out and getting a new outfit when you have the doldrums. You put it on, you look at yourself in the mirror and feel like a new person.
This new cover, infinitely better than the crappy working cover I'd been using since March, makes Tatterdemalion seem possible and viable and I feel myself filled with a greater sense of purpose and excitement than anything I've written since American Zen over five years ago. I look at this cover not as an expense or a luxury but an investment. So tell me what you think.
