The Onion had it right in their Jan, 2001 edition when they 'quoted' incoming President Bush as saying, "Our long national nightmare of peace and prosperity is finally over!"
This NYTimes spoof is exactly what I would like to have happen, but I don't expect any of it to come true. It's been my opinion since Reagan's era that the Democratic Leadership is under the control of the GOP. Why else have they refused to do what their constituents have demanded of them: hold the GOP accountable for their brazen violation of the US Constitution!
And I don't see anyone in the upcoming Cngress or Obama's forming administration that seems willing to do that, either.
