John McCain Loses Yet Another Reason to Live


To add insult to injury, Prez Obama called it. The Steelers won their 6th Super Bowl 27-23. Congratulations to Pennsylvania for winning their second world title in a year. It was a helluva finish, even if the Pats weren't in it.

As always, it was weird to be watching it live here, (mid-morning Monday) on one of the commercial TV networks, not even the government channel that shows the Tour de France and other foreign sporting events. Aussies will watch anything involving a ball flying through the air. Didn't hurt that there was a bloke from the Geelong Aussie Rules club who was punting for the Cardinals. Still, I can't imagine any cable sports channel in the U.S. broadcasting the Australian football Grand Final, despite the fact that Aussie football is so much more entertaining than the U.S. brand. Problem is, you have to have been born here to figure out what the hell their rules are.
