Zardoz Has Spoken... Again and Again and Again

Why should Jeff Sessions, the batshit insane senator from Alabama who said in '05 during a Senate hearing that all Guantanamo Bay detainees ought to be executed immediately, give a shit what Newt Gingrich says and why should we for that matter?

The media have been doing their level-headed best to either replace Rush's pudgy face with Newt's as the front of the GOP or make Gingrich the party's floating co-Zardoz head. And what had been the catalyst for Gingrich's latest comeback into the national spotlight? A campaign fundraising letter written by someone who's not even in national office, something that would ordinarily hardly merit mention much less generous quotage.

And what's the big deal this time? Gingrich's admission that him calling Judge Sonia Sotomayor a reverse racist, an inexplicable conclusion he'd reached after reviewing not even one of her rulings but a speech she'd given 8 years ago, was too strong a word.

It's ridiculous that a man Gingrich's age would use such a loaded and polarizing word regarding a widely-respected federal judge just nominated by the president of the United States to occupy a seat on the Supreme Court and then try to backpedal and say "Oh, I didn't really mean to say racist. I meant to say ethnically biased."

And once again for the umpteenth time, I have to reiterate my utter astonishment in why the MSM have been fawning for years over so many out-of-the-loop, unemployed Republicans such as Gingrich, Karl Rove, Tom DeLay and all the other Republican psychopaths who largely got us in the mess in which we now find ourselves. And perhaps the only reason we're not seeing more of them on TV or hearing them on the radio is because Duke Cunningham, Bob Ney, Bob Taft, Jack Abramoff and George Ryan are too busy ducking prison shower rape every day.

How wrong, belligerent and offensive do these people have to be and how often before the MSM and America at large finally says Shut the Fuck Up to these Republican rodeo clowns? And how long do you think it'll be before Rush resumes taking potshots at Newt again for backpedaling on his racist remarks and how long do you think it'll take for Newt to say in response, "I regret nothing! She's a racist!" and then accusing her of stealing silverware while having lunch with senators?

And how many of us will be counting the silverware?
