Because extending a furlough for a convicted rapist and murderer is not quite the same thing as commuting a 95 year-long sentence for a guy with a rap sheet longer than your arm, someone who would go on to, without provocation, cold-bloodedly kill four police officers in a coffee shop.
And if I'm unfairly making political hay over this, hey, sue me. There were no such prohibitions as far as the GOP was concerned in 1988.

Thanks again to the governor of the state directly south of mine. Mike Huckabee seems to have had a few problems with the felons he released early. Google Wayne Dumond.
I fear this is too early to sink Fuckabee. Republicans have short memories.
