That GOP that dreams of better days is what made and empowered that monster in the first place. And as long as the GOP remains this feeble-minded and feckless, they will never evolve from where they are now. And if the Republican Party had shown us anything over the past century, it's that evolution isn't their strong suit.

     Yesterday, the House had passed a continuing resolution (a stopgap bill) to fund the government until Dec. 20, 341-82.

     All 82 nays came from Republicans.
