Gotham City Digest

("The trick is to start with the edge pieces, then do the other two.")

Every once in a while, I'll see a recycled article on Pocket from Mental Floss or some other site and I'll read one that's eminently share-worthy. This time, it's the story of pirate queen Grace O'Malley.

Basically, they all devolved on urban war game scenarios. Every one without fail involved street violence. Between November and January, the streets will be choked with burning Racal scooters and pork rinds.

Happy Hour Larry was on Jake Tapper's show this morning and when Tapper reminded him, “We’ve had more than four days of a thousand deaths,” Larry actually said, "“Don’t forget, in the package, we’re talking about a $1,200 assistance check.”
Which would cover maybe one sixth the cost of a decent funeral.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Sunday flea circus, Mark Meadows says that Trump couldn't control the spread of infection. That's the guy who's still blaming Obama for two Ebola deaths six years ago.

Hey, lookit his African American over there.

There is no depth to which right wingers won't sink in the interests of party primacy.

Even Regis Philbin's death is all about him.

The last surviving cast member of GONE WITH THE WIND, two time Oscar winner Olivia de Havilland has passed away.

A BLM protester was shot and killed last night in Austin, TX. Considering all you screaming right wing nutters who showed up in Lansing & other state capitals carrying AK47 & AR 15 assault rifles, I don't want to hear any shit from right wingers pissing & moaning about meanie lib'ruls with their guns. The 2nd Amendment applies to all, no?

We send more people to the Pearly Gates by noon than the entire GOP does in a year. Can we have a Hallelujah?!

It's not because they don't want to work, you dumb ass, it's because they don't want to get sick and die. He essentially called them grifters. And in the REAL world, it doesn't work that way. You don't go to work, you essentially quit your job. You quit your job, you lose your unemployment benefits. I'd think that would be so simple to understand, even a Republican could grasp it.
Keep in mind, this is a guy whose party's led by a guy worth over $25,000,000 with over 400 House bills collecting dust on his desk for which he refuses to bring to a vote during the 100 days of the year they actually work.

Internal GOP polling shows Biden winning in Texas.

An Ohio voter was asked if he thought Trump could lead us out of this pandemic. He burst out laughing.

Trump put on his big boy pants for a few minutes and the media cheered him fulsomely. This is how low we've set the bar.

So, here's what happened in Louisville last night- At an anti-police brutality protest, the heavily-armed Not Fucking Around Coalition had a gun fight with right wing 3 Percenters. Three black militia members were shot and injured while police stood by because, WHITE. When one black protester tried to cross the No Man's Land the police set up to separate the factions, HE was arrested.
This is why they protest. This is why they bring guns. THIS is why they shoot back.

Trump's basically slammed on the brakes after he went over the cliff like a comb-overed Wile E. Coyote.

     Meme intermission.

I guess, after playing catch with Mariano Rivera a few days ago, he realized he was unable to throw a pitch as good as Dr. Fauci's.

     OK, this was classy.

So, how's that honeymoon going, kids?

Jennifer Rubin completely lays out Trump for his lifelong cowardice.

If you're confused as to why a psychopath like Louis Gohmert remains in Congress year after year, look no further than his homicidal hillbilly voters.

     Your Brad o' the day.

And your co-Brad o' the day.

Here are some possible ways to protect yourself from eviction since the moratorium expired last Friday.

Maj. Adam DeMarco, a National Guard Commander and war veteran, will testify before Congress tomorrow. In his opening statements, he will contradict Bill Barr's account of what happened at St. John's on June 1st.

The ‘perfect storm’ is shaping up to be ‘a tsunami’.

I was never, ever onboard with Bush creating the DHS. Yet, at least in theory, its mission was to protect the American people. Trump's former DoD spokesman just wrote and posted a lengthy analysis proving Trump has misused DHS and violated the public trust by perverting its mission and using it against the American people.

The Asian bus driver asked them to wear masks, so they beat him with a baseball bat. The little psycho punks are still on the loose.

Now John Bolton's successor had COVID-19. This whole fucking administration is toppling like ten pins.

I have always hated temp agencies, especially since 2000 when everything changed and they allowed their clients to get involved in the hiring process by pre-screening applicants through their resumes. So it doesn't surprise me that these scumbag, sleazeball outfits are double-dipping at the federal trough.

Before Dr. Mary Trump, there was Dr. Bandy Lee.

Impeachment lawyer Norm Eisen shredded Robert Mueller’s investigation, as well he should have. The OLC guideline against indicting a sitting president is just that- a guideline. It's not settled law yet Mueller kept acting as if it were.

"Wear a bicycle helmet or I'll throw you on the tarmac and crack your skull!"

At this point, the cancel culture in the White House is so rampant, about the only things he's not canceling are his "executive time" watching junk TV, Twitter rants and golf outings.

What the FUCK is the matter with these 1% assholes? Are they really trying to kill us all?

      Floral arrangement on the Titanic.

I don't appreciate his idiotic, ignorant comments about Antifa but he nails the tone of what would've been the GOP national convention.

Trump finally showed some consideration for once in his worthless, sociopathic life and left Washington yesterday. Congressman John Lewis is currently lying in state in the US Capitol. Just on a historical note: If this was 1965 again, Trump would've applauded the police brutality showered on Rep. John Lewis on the Edmund Pettus Bridge and Trump would've called him a "criminal."
I can just imagine how his speech would've gone:
"Yeah, Elijah Cum... Er, John Lewis, they all look alike to me, represented Georgia, a great state, by the way, I won it in 2016 when I beat Crooked Hillary by over 5 points. I love the poorly educated and so does Betsy, my great Education Secretary. Anyway, John got his head cracked by the brave law enforcement of Alabama by doing what he thought at the time was a good idea and we're seeing the same thing now in Portland and Chicago, which is a crime-infested rat's nest, lemme tell ya. But he knew what he signed up for. How a guy with a criminal record got elected to Congress is anybody's guess but..."

Even less than 100 days before the election, with two dozen of them up for re-election and many of them sure to go down in flames, the GOP STILL can't stop acting like assholes. It's like the Scorpion and the Frog. We're the frog, in rapidly boiling water, and they're the scorpion and can't resist acting out their natures. And finally...

Florida Man, the world's worst but richest superhero.
