Gotham City Digest

(Bottoms up, motherfuckers. The bender's just starting.)

This is just the perfect exclamation point of this clusterfuck of an administration. I hope Mark Meadows recovers but geez...

“They know he’s lost, but no one seems willing to tell King Lear or Mad King George that they’ve lost the empire.” That perfectly describes him.
Senator Josh Hawley, Republican scum of Missouri, said the election wasn’t settled. “The media do not get to determine who the president is. The people do. When all lawful votes have been counted, recounts finished, and allegations of fraud addressed, we will know who the winner is.”
Oh, really, Sparky? I don't recall Republicans saying that when Fox then the rest of the networks called it for Bush in 2000. Or 2004. Or for Trump in 2016.
Poor Van Jones had completely lost it on CNN when Biden was announced the winner.
The last time we saw anything like this was when two corrupt assholes claimed to be Venezuela's president. Venezuela's a corrupt banana republic. This is the United States of America. We are not a banana republic.
Let's see who else has the virus. Oh dear, again?! It's Matt Gaetz (R-COVID-19)! Maybe he should've kept the WWI gas mask on.

"It appears that Joe Biden has won the election. But even so, we have learned a bitter truth. We don't live in the country we dreamed about. That's what is so heartbreaking. Nearly 70 million Americans voted for a man who makes Richard Nixon look like a decent human being. Joe Biden may have won, but we lost. We aren't who we hoped we would be." - Lucian Truscott IV, Salon.
Oh, you want a recount in Wisconsin? That'll be $3,000,000, please. In cash. In advance.
It sounds as if someone got a call from Rupert.
Sloppy Steve's lawyer just quit. Yes, it was over the "heads on pikes" comment.
Yeah, regarding that right wing talking point about antifa and BLM, being terrorist organizations...
"After trying to capitalize on the civil unrest in Minneapolis this summer, two members of the anti-government Boogaloo Bois attempted to sell untraceable machine guns and unregistered silencers to Hamas, an international terrorist group, to be used in attacks against United States and Israeli soldiers overseas..."
Look for more of this right wing double apostasy in the months and years ahead. It was fun playing rebeliious teenagers during the Trump years but, as I'd predicted many times this year, look for these so-called apostates to crawl and slink back to the Republican Party when they think no one's looking. Scarborough's just the first.
Ryan Knight made a priceless catch last night that was amplified by AOC. So much for the right wing Democrat theory that true progressives almost cost Biden the election and the House. Sure it was "a repudiation of Democrats", Joey Scar: Blue Dog Democrats. American voters want the real thing. (Tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)

     Meme intermission.
Ever notice these right wing temper tantrums over the election from Hollywood are coming from aging hasbeens no one wants to listen to? (Another tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)
From a dear friend of mine in Wisconsin. You seriously want to watch this video.
"There’s a lot of magical thinking in Washington, that this is just about special people that kind of come down from on high. Year after year, we decline the idea that they did work and ran sophisticated operations in favor of the idea that they are magical, special people. I need people to take these goggles off and realize how we can do things better." AOC outside her campaign HQ on election day. (A third tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)
He was the greatest game show host of all time.
     Who was Alex Trebek?
If Biden was smart, he'd rehire every competent person Trump ever fired, plus make Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman Ambassador to Ukraine.
"Please leave so I can get divorce on road."
One more time, you right wing nutters, the media don't decide who wins an election- They merely report the results of those who DO decide that- The American voter.
"Certain concessions before leaving office"?! WTF does Santorum think this is, a barricade hostage situation?
Not only can he not answer why the DOJ isn't investigating voter fraud, Republican Uncle Fester thinks the Democrats stole up to 10 states.
Jake Tapper said the Republicans "are acting like babies" because they are. Of course, Tapper said this to Larry Hogan, the right wing nut job who wasted his vote by voting for thr rotting corpse of Ronald Reagan rather than vote the guy with the capital "D" after his name.

Chris Wallace just compared Ted Cruz to a Japanese soldier still fighting WWII 30 years later.
"The Trump Family Grift Begins"? When did it ever end?
Speaking of grifters... Grifters are gonna grift. Look at these tax-dodging assholes, for instance.
What can fill up Times Square before New Year's? Donald Trump's downfall. It's like London when Scrooge's death was announced, times 1,000,000.
Written like the only surviving Nazi coming out of the bunker and being the last person in Germany to realize the war is lost. Or someone who was paid $30,000,000 by a TV network to go away.
I apologize in advance for linking to that right wing sewer, Newsmax, especially because of misleading headlines. But Pirro WAS suspended after screaming conspiracy theories about voter fraud on her last broadcast.
Mary Trump on her crazy uncle: "The fact that the Republicans have done better than expected in Congress and the Senate will have made him extraordinarily angry. It means that people were voting against Donald Trump in this election, but not necessarily against this party. That will have added so much salt to his narcissistic wounds."
IOW, it was absolutely a referendum on Trump.
I can see Trump making good on his threat to continue holding Nazi rallies after the election as well as airing ads on what few networks and social media domains will carry them claiming he won the election, he was cheated and exhorting his 71,000,000 voters to start a civil war regardless of the personal risk of those stupid enough to heed the call. And finally...
     "Stay the fuck away, eh?"
