Plan 9 From Outer Trumplandia

     OK, so Texas Attorney General Henry Lee Lucas crashed and burned in the Supreme Court a couple of days ago. That one was called "The Big One" by Trump and it has since been solidified into Supreme Court history as perhaps the most fallacious lawsuit ever brought before the High Court, especially as the world's most dangerous drifter with a law degree didn't even begin in the lower courts.

     Meaning that 74,000,000 seriously misguided voters, a billion and a half dollars, dozens of voter suppression laws, closed polling places, deliberately slowed down delivery of mail in ballots and literally five dozen lawsuits still couldn't pull it out for Trump.

     That's some serious hatred. And it could've worked and it would've all been perfectly legal, if it wasn't for early voting and mail in ballots, over 100,000,000, to be more exact, that, as predicted, overwhelmingly skewed Democratic. It took the highest voter turnout percentage since 1900 (65.4%) to ensure that Trump would not get to extend his incompetent 4th Reich for another four years. The 2020 election simultaneously served to show the world how much, and how little, Americans can be trusted with their power to vote.

     So, we can sweep up the sawdust, put the elephants away. The clowns can take off their costumes and greasepaint and the jugglers can put their pins and balls away and go out and have a nice cool one, right?

     Wrong. In his ceaseless quest for a pardon that seems to be his only legal strategy, Ken Paxton announced today on Fox Business that the fight has just begun, that there's a sequel, a Plan B, in the works that "don’t depend on actually proving every little instance of fraud.”

     The problem is that none of Trump's scores of lawsuits in several states had been able to prove even a "little instance of fraud.” And that includes Paxton's lawsuit, which had given up on proving fraud and the guilt of various states and instead depended upon those states to prove their innocence. Paxton's new strategy, therefore, is to attack the states individually...

     ...even though that's exactly what Trump's aforementioned scores of nuisance lawsuits attempted, with all but one crashing and burning.

     Maybe Paxton didn't have circled on his calendar December 14th, tomorrow. That's important as the 538 electors will cast their votes and, as usual, few if any will turn out to be "faithless electors." Then, of course, it'll be up to the House to count and certify the results on January 6th. Then, two weeks later, the inauguration happens.

     But none of that means shit to Paxton or the 18 right wing Attorneys General or the 126 Republican scum in that same House of Representatives who'd signed on with amicus briefs attached to Paxton's more than Quixotic lawsuit.
