Pottersville Digest

(Perfectly descriptive of 2020 but 2021's not looking so hot, either.)

Looks as if Mizz Lindsey's going to be spending a lot of time on his fainting couch on the veranda while clutching a mint julep.

Historically, red states get more money than blue states and certainly more than they kick in. This is largely because of assholes like Marsha Blackburn.

"The anti-SLAPP motion notes that Kathryn Cagle deleted all of her social media history pertaining to Jan. 6. If the matter goes into discovery, both sides could be compelled to produce troves of personal data, such as GPS location history and message logs."
Remind me again who the snowflakes are, again? And they call US "libtards".

Jared's just now discovering what it feels like to be the stereotypical son in law.

"I am in that common-sense middle. That's who I am." Joe Manchin
Yeah, right in the middle of the Republican side of things that's never rooted in "common-sense." Because I can guaran-fucking-tee you if the Democrats had succeeded in getting the $15 minimum wage increase written into the COVID relief bill, Manchin, and probably Sinema would've voted against it.

A death cult. That's what Trump's voters are. I will never stop saying that and I will never stop believing it. To paraphrase Senator Gracchus in GLADIATOR, he gave them death and they loved him for it.

To quote a friend of mine: "If the Dems can simply ensure that a public option will be in the works between now and the Midterms, that would boost their chances of holding onto Congress even if the Repubs block their other big proposals. The 'moderates' in their ranks will have to face primary challenges before they feel the heat."
Keeping infamously predatory private HMO's on the playing field, between the hashmarks, is never a good choice and will never end well. (Tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)

     Your Brad o' the day.

From "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight" files...

Congresswoman Qanon: "There is clearly not a threat, there was nothing that happened on March 4th, the Democrats are obsessed with conspiracy theories -- and they won't let them go!"
You gotta admit, this is a rarified level of projection.

Sean Duffy has four daughters. They should have asked him if he'd trust Trump to be alone with any of them or his wife. PS, Sean: Rape and sexual assault are not "engagements with women." They're called rape and sexual assault for good reason.

This makes perfect sense. When preparing to go after a mobster like Donald Trump, hire an attorney very familiar with the RICO statutes.

I'm sure this will break the hearts of my friends across the pond.

Yeah, twist the knife in the guts of racists another one or two times, Joe.
"All you people who think Biden is the president, you guys cannot get no stupider, ok? He's not in the White House. It's closed down. He is on a movie set! You guys are so freaking ignorant that I just have to laugh and laugh! 'Cause you're not hurting my feelings. Never one time did Trump ever have to fake anything that he's done. Not one time! He don't fake shit."
Wow, don't you feel stupid now, peeps?

"What drives people to the QAnon cult... that contributed to the January 6 insurrection is ultimately a grotesque mix of wish-fulfillment fantasies and an abiding sense of white entitlement. These are folks who are absolutely certain that they deserve to be in charge, no matter what, and that belief feeds their attachment to increasingly complex conspiracy theories that promise that there's a 'secret' rule or law that can be activated that will allow them to overcome a democratic election and install their preferred president in his place. They are in a search of a cheat code to defeat the big boss, if you will, and in this case, the big boss is democracy." -Amanda Marcotte.

I'll make it easy for you and break it down- The American Nazi Party, aka the GOP, is introducing 253 bills in 43 states to steal the vote from minorities. Stop the steal, indeed. And finally...

15 years ago, we heard a lot of griping from Republicans like Tom DeLay about "activist judges" when they didn't get their way in court. Without the slightest appreciation for irony, Republicans today are now trying to pack judiciaries with their activist judges.
