A Bridge Too Far
Those of you following Welcome Back to Pottersville have noticed I've haven't posted too often since last summer. For that, I deeply apologize, especially considering that there's so much going on.
However, while I'm not offering this as a valid excuse, it must be said that anyone who knows anything about me knows I'm a novelist first and a political blogger second. In fact, I'd begun writing fiction 11 years before I tried my hand at political commentary. That means since 1994, writing novel-length fiction has been a constant, the only constant, in my life for the last 27 years.
Having said that, it may not come as news to some of you that my last "publisher" had delisted all 10 of my titles in a last minute dick move when I finally had enough of their Amateur Hour screwups and broke my contract with them. Ergo, since August, I've been combing through all my novels, incorporating my copy editor's suggestions and reissuing them one at a time. Thus far, I've republished five of my seven novels and am working on #6 before moving on to the smaller works.
So that explains the lack of political content. There simply aren't enough hours in the day.
As well as the reissuing of my novels, Amazon had begun publishing books in hardcover. After getting a test hardback done, I'm happy with the results and have decided to create hardcover versions of all seven of my novels to date.
This brings me to the real thrust of this: Just as there aren't enough hours in the day, there's not enough money left in the month. I'm down to my last $69 in the checking, have pocket change in the savings and not even that in Paypal. I was left flat broke when I gave my landlord's widow $1600 to cover last month and this month's rent on Halloween.
I need a little help, a financial bridge to make it until the next disbursement. So anything you can give would be deeply appreciated. And I'll throw in a deal: Anyone who gives $50 or more will get a paperback mailed at my expense and anyone kicking in $75 or more will get a hardcover. (Continental US only).
Thank you for your time.
