     Musk, even moreso than Trump, is the ultimate delineation of the extremes of hero worship, in which those least worthy of worship, respect and adulation are the ones who frequently receive it the most often and in the largest numbers. We tend to measure people in terms of power, wealth and celebrity, which are the very worst measures of human character. I don't know if it's Musk's Aspergers that makes him such an intolerable sociopath but that sociopathy seems to be an even bigger selling point for his idiotic fanboys. As Adam Serwer wrote in the Atlantic years ago, "the cruelty is the point". And in Musk, they see a super-sized version of themselves, the ultimate avatar of permissiveness that gives them, as they see it, a license to be their very worst selves from the safety and anonymity of a keyboard.

     One of the funniest things I ever saw politically was two years ago when Ducey was literally in the middle of certifying the AZ election results. And during the live televised broadcast, his cell phone kept buzzing and Ducey repeatedly looked at it and pushed it aside. It turned out it was Trump trying to call him to tell him to not certify the results.

     And, if by some impossible chance, they got their playground do-over and they lost those elections. What would they say, then? Best three out of five?
