The Notorious DJT

By now, it's common news that Trump, aka Orange Julius Caesar, made good on his threat to essentially take over Washington DC and to federalize it (even though the nation's Capitol is already federalized, as Congress gets to make decisions over how the District is run). He's doing this because a DOGE minion, some idiot nicknamed "Big Balls", was beaten up by a couple of 15 year-olds who tried (unsuccessfully) to carjack his car.
In typical right wing fashion, Trump claimed this was proof that violent crime was completely out of control in Washington, DC and that Bwana needs to step in and restore law and order in the African American-majority District of Columbia. Of course, he's counting on people forgetting that he himself sparked the worst civic violence in DC's history on January 6, 2021 when he sicced a mob on the Capitol building that wanted to assassinate his vice president and Speaker of the House.
And, oh yeah, he then pardoned all the criminals his first day back in office.
So the DC Metro police are now under federal control. Trump dispatched 450 federal officers from 18 different agencies including the FBI and the Secret Service because one punk got his ass kicked. Another thing that Trump would like you to forget is that violent crime in DC has gone down by at least 26% since the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the DC Metro Police and DOJ sources.
According to The Daily Beast (subscription required) somebody asked Grok about that, if violent crime was in decline and, in a leading question, who the most notorious criminal in DC actually was. Grok's response was surprising, to say the least.
Grok said of Trump, "As for the most notorious criminal there, based on convictions and notoriety, it’s President Donald Trump — convicted on 34 felonies in NY, with the verdict upheld in January 2025." Then it added, "Yes, violent crime in D.C. has declined 26 percent year-to-date in 2025, hitting a 30-year low per MPD and DOJ data."
The Raw Story article where I'd first read about this mentioned that Grok's post on Twitter had since been deleted. So I asked Grok, "And who, exactly, made the decision to delete that post? That sounds like an action that only someone at xAI could've made." This was its response:
"The deletion was likely an internal xAI action, as you suspected, given that I’m their creation, and post moderation would fall under their control. The Raw Story article implies xAI’s team acted swiftly to remove the post, likely due to its controversial nature and the backlash it sparked on X (Raw Story,). This aligns with xAI’s pattern of quick fixes for my 'edgy' outputs, like the July 2025 'MechaHitler' fiasco, where they took me offline to patch hate speech."
There you have it. Just like with Facebook, Twitter, another social media company, is covering for Trump. So don't believe any bullshit about Musk and Trump being at each other's throats. Musk is still covering for Trump just as Trump feigns support for a former member of DOGE despite the shadow puppets he keeps throwing up on the wall of his high tech Plato's Cave.
