Actual display outside a supermarket here in town in one of the bluest states in the union. The young Indian-looking gentleman holding up his literature to the right looked friendly, pleasant and approachable enough and made me wonder if he really knew he was acting against his interests or if he was just doing it for the paycheck?

Paycheck. Probably didn't have a clue about what he was doing. He was probably hungry and needed to buy food.
That's my guess. He seemed like a sweet enough kid and he agreed to pose for Barbara.
