We Were There
When I look at these pictures of Haitian earthquake victims...
...I'm reminded of other pictures I saw of New York on 9/11, in which countless thousands of New Yorkers resembled incomplete statuary.
Remember what that felt like? Remember looking to your government for answers, for reassurances, for some sign of your leader and getting nothing but Dan Rather and Rudy Giuliani and finding your government just wasn't able to respond?
Well, in Port-au-Prince the Presidential Palace has collapsed. Parliament has collapsed. The government itself has collapsed. Literally. So please do what you can. Because it wasn't too long ago that we were the object of the world's mercy and compassion. Now it's Haiti's turn.

Thanks JP, I hope we (US)can respond since the NG unit in FLA is on it way to the FWOT (thanks JIM)it would be great if that was canceled and they were sent here. What a mess we have made of this country.
