Stop the Real World, I Wanna Get Off!
One doesn't have to look very far or hard to see how pathetic of a human being Maria Bartiromo is. I mean, here's a woman who'd crafted for herself a pretty solid reputation as a financial journalist for Fox Business. Then Donald Trump came down the escalator and Bartiromo not so slowly lost her fucking mind.
There was a reason why Rupert Murdoch threw Bartiromo under the wheels of Fox's omnibus because he could see even better than most that she is one of the True Believers of the Big Lie. Her text messages to Steve Bannon prove it. She was basically looking for someone with enough gravitas and authority to reassure her that, "No, Maria, you're not crazier than a shit house rat in flames and there was massive voter fraud."
Most of the other hosts like Hannity and Carlson knew the lies were a steaming pile of horseshit. They wanted the lies to be true, also, but even they had enough sense to know by air time it was all bullshit. They trundled out the lies on their highly-rated shows, anyway, and one can be assured they didn't need much prodding from corporate to do so.
They kept trundling out the lies put out by the lame duck Trump administration because they were scared about the market share tanking. They were scared of losing eyeballs from their most important demographic, the 60 to Mummy crowd. But they knew what the truth was. They were just too craven to tell that truth because of threats to their market share, their viewership and the thrashing death throes of the sunsetting Trump admin.
Bartiromo was different. Like the head-shaking psychopaths who religiously tune in to Fox every night as if if it were a daily Mass from the Pope, Maria Bartiromo didn't want to hear the truth that her own employers put out on Election Night 2020, namely that Biden won Arizona. Quickly seeing their mistake, that of telling uncomfortable truths to their viewers, the guy that ran the political desk that night was swiftly fired and the fire hoses of bullshit was manned by the likes of Bartiromo, Hannity, Carlson and Ingraham and the rest of the B list rodeo clowns.
But Bartiromo was so resistant to the truth, her texts make clear that she forbade her staff from referring to Biden as the "president-elect", even though he was from November 7th onward. And she even admitted she was "scared and sad" because her Daddy Warbucks got his fat ass thrashed.
People, that's the definition of a cultist. When someone admits that it gives them the sads when seeing "the world move forward", as opposed to backward, that's the very definition of a cultist and if one could do a forensic audit of Bartiromo's laptop that day, one could plausibly find Google searches on poisoned Koolaid recipes.
And Bannon the future jailbird, showed what a good choice he made by not becoming a clinical psychologist because one of the cardinal rules in psychology and psychiatry is to never feed your patients' delusions, which is exactly what Bannon did on his end. It's hand-holding and tea-pouring at its most despicable.
Fox "News" learned a valuable lesson, or eschewed one that was wasted on them- That when you tell the truth to a demographic that 's already made up its mind what the "truth" is, it makes no sense from a stock valuation point of view to disabuse them of those notions, at least not with half-assed rivals such as OAN and Newsmax balefully waiting in the wings ready, willing and able to take in those viewers as they waddled down the mooring lines.
Don't expect Fox to make that mistake ever again, especially if Trump gets the GOP nomination and gets his fat ass handed to him yet again.
