Before Neda...


...there was this young man, killed over five days ago by police while he was in his college dorm.

Iran is a democracy yet they have no problem killing their future.

The Iranian government, said Ahmadinejad, "likes everyone" yet they have no problem murdering the innocent.

Even a latter-day crusader like George W. Bush hastened to reassure us that Islam is a religion about peace yet these people have no problem killing to quell dissent.

Iran is going on strike, the most peaceful protest there is. In anticipation of government-created utility stoppages, Iranians are stocking up on necessities like flashlights and baby food and filling their tubs while gas stations and refineries, oil fields, auto plants and bus routes will be silenced. Support these people and be with them as much as you can on this trail of tears on the way to true democracy. And keep Neda and this poor boy in mind when you do. Keep in mind that vengeance is not the best revenge but democracy and the accountability it promises is.
