It's On.
As we speak, the planned Saturday rally in Tehran, despite a disinformation campaign by the government, is on. Countless Mousavi supporters such as this young Iranian lady on Twitter are giving us minute-by minute updates as to what's going on.
Some of her latest dispatches include:
BASIJI WILL RUN AWAY SOON! RT from Iran: rally is on, lots of basij trying to scare people off, but crowd is growing #iranelection
RT from Iran: Large crowd of people are going to Enghelab sq. and they're growing. #iranElection #gr88
RT IRAN: RT Mousavi walking from Ettelaat to the Ministry of Interior- thousands with him and joining him #IranElection. Good luck. Peace.
RT from Iran: they r starting to beat ppl up areound azadi, stick in large groups #iranelection #CNN
RT from Iran: Do not send pics to anyone from phones at rally, they will be able to track who you are. #iranelection
RT from Iran: we will try to keep rally peaceful & silent at every cost. cant give them excuse to use force. hope they wont #iranelection
RT from Iran Hold a Quran in your hand when you see Basiji. Its a sin to kill someone who is holding a Quran #iranelection #gr88
RT from Iran: The rally today is illegal, but it can (and probably will) happen. I don't think it's controlable anymore. #GR88
Those are just some of the latest impressions from one of what will surely be well over 100,000 people choking the streets of Tehran in open defiance of their dictator Ayatollah Khamenei who'd, predictably, certified the results of their democratic election and then threatened those who continued questioning it.
Yeah, your election got stolen and your democracy's a sham. Nothing to see here, folks. Which is the same exact thing we heard from the Republican party in 2000 and 2004, the same party that's anathematized the Iranian government that has more in common with them than they'd like to admit.
I truly worry for these poor kids, these naive lovers of democracy who still believe that clutching the Koran and remaining peaceful is going to keep them safe when their own government is even now dispatching literally tens of thousands of Basij goons in the streets to crack heads. In the crush and the passion of the moment, I don't hold out the slightest hope that they'll check to see if someone's holding the Koran before they put a truncheon to their skull.

Your last paragraph scared the hell out of me. I fear you are right.
I pray not and for their brave souls.
