Pottersville Digest

(Doesn't look as if Oceania loves him back.)
Trump sold Pence up the river, specifically the Potomac. The GOP is doing the same thing to him.

     Better luck next time.

It couldn't have happened to a nicer right wing shill.

Let's face it: If you were filming a 30's gangster movie and needed a couple of mob enforcers, these thug cops from Buffalo would be what Central Casting would send over.

That weariness was nowhere in evidence during the Benghazi hearings or Clinton's blow job impeachment.

"I mean, I'm deeply disturbed by what's happened to him. Never did I think he would spiral out like this... I don't feel like I know who he is anymore... The person that I worked with is not the person that I have watched since the election."
Yes he is. He's the ultimate right winger. He never changes one iota, down to his clownishly long ties and equally laughable double combover. And it wasn't as if you, Nikki Haley, were never warned about him.

William Cohen completely lays out wet-legged Republican scum and their expected second acquittal of Donald Trump.

"So, you see, Donald Trump can't be convicted for lighting the match that set the Capitol on fire because other people have also lit matches, albeit in a responsible manner."

A truly great moment in signage. Kind of similar to this old Photoshopped bit of genius:

And why is this misogynist asshole still working at the Biden WH and how come that same WH then attacked Politico and tried to make Ducklo sound as if he was the victim?

     Your Karen o' the day.

This is makes zero sense, especially since the trial is essentially over.

We'll Back the Blue when they start backing the other 97%.

"It couldn't have been Trump guys. I'm thinking it could've been more Antifa or, you know, Democrats wanting to make Trump look bad or something. No normal Republican would go nuts."
Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Chuckles. Regular Dad o' the year, you are.

His self-pitying histrionics aside, what this idiot's legal argument comes down to is this: "Democrats don't have the constitutional right to say the word 'fight' but Donald Trump does."

I have to admit, I never thought Tom Cotton was capable of laughter.

The fascinating story of Prince Hall, an unofficial black Founding Father who lived and worked near me in Boston.

"There was nothing fun here, Mr. Raskin. We aren't having fun here. This is about the most miserable experience I've had down here in Washington, DC. There's nothing fun about it."
If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that Trump just hired this ambulance chaser the day before yesterday. Oh, wait, HE DID.

Seriously, why else do you think Trump hired an ambulance chaser to defend him? Because they know they could bullshit and still get him off because the Republican scum in the Senate will vote to acquit even if the Democrats showed video proof of Trump killing Sicknick.

"Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are," Trump said on Jan. 6 in the phone call, CNN reported. It cited "lawmakers who were briefed on the call afterward by McCarthy."
McCarthy, in response, reportedly said: "Who the fuck do you think you are talking to?"
At the very same moment, the report said, "rioters were breaking into his office through the windows." CNN.

Ultra right wing lawyer Ted Olson turns off the money spigots to all Republican senators who refuse to vote to convict Trump

"Incitement to resurrection"? Trump's call to Ben Roethlisberger? Trump supporters bringing the Calvary? Yes. This was his defense.
     And it'll work.
This is our government at work, people.

After most of the senators laughed at his demands to depose witnesses at his law office in Philadelphia, Michael van der Veen was ready to go on a five state murder spree.

After the witness vote went against Trump, Ron Johnson began screaming at Mitt Romney, who voted with Democrats to allow Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler to be subpoenaed. They honestly thought they'd get an acquittal today. The fat lady hasn't sung yet, folks, but Wisconsin's senior senator is doing an awful lot of yelling today. But wait, there's more to that.

Like this. Leave it to the fucking Democrat Party to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Bottom line; Giuliani could face racketeering charges in Georgia. Rudy has become one of the gangsters he used to pursue.

Former Army prosecutor Glenn Kirschner said that Trump could possibly be arrested and charged with Officer Brian Sicknick's murder. I'd pay good money to see him dragged out of Mar a Lago in handcuffs. We could make it a PPV event and pay off the national debt.

How ironic would it have been if the very face of the January 6th riots turned out to be the instrument of Trump's conviction?

Your MTG outrage o' the day. And finally...

I'm glad the US Senate did this for Officer Goodman. I was worried that his selflessness and bravery wouldn't get properly recognized in the riot's aftermath.
