Guilty

     So, Peter Navarro, the official chief trade advisor and brain-damaged leprechaun of the Trump crime family, was found guilty today on contempt charges. Being the typical butt-hurt, right wing snowflake that he is, he couldn't wait to face the microphones minutes after his conviction to show why he should've been convicted of contempt. He blamed "woke Marxists" on his conviction. Basically, he showed his contempt not only for Congress but the entire federal criminal justice system.

    Hours later, Navarro (of course) took to social media to piss and moan about how he was being persecuted for standing up for "the Constitution" and "my Commander in Chief". He also thanked his supporters for their prayers. Oh, yeah, he also said he was on, wait for it, a mission from God.

     Yeah, Pete, how'd that work out?

     And how did Trump's promise to pardon you work out after your fabled Green Bay Sweep crashed and burned? No, I'll pardon you next time, trust me. And he's still clinging to that like Rose on that door in Titanic.

     What he apparently doesn't understand is he's facing a year in prison for each of the two counts of which he was convicted. That means, if God was feeling especially churlish toward the human race and reinstalled that snarling umber shitgibbon back in the Oval Office, Navarro will still have to serve at least most of his full two years before Trump would pardon him. And, again, knowing Trump's propensity for leaving failed co-conspirators out to dry, I wouldn't be holding my breath for even a meaningless pardon.

     This latest conviction shows that the guardrails protecting our democratic republic are still standing strong after Trump's insurrection and that it had only suffered a few dings.Trump will eventually go to prison for his role in trying to overthrow the government and overturn an election that he lost. And even if he doesn't go to prison, Jack Smith will all but guarantee that he'll be a convicted felon.

     Because, as Glenn Kirschner concludes every video he puts out, "Justice matters".
