Gotham City Digest

(Where we hope Trump was haunted by Jeffrey Epstein as Marley and Andrew Johnson as the Ghost of Impeachment Past, Nixon as the Ghost of Impeachment Present and Elijah Cummings as the Ghost of Impeachment to Come.)

Snipers for land protectors?! Do any of my Canadian friends know about this? Kinda puts an evil twist to the adage of always getting their man, eh?

I would've said Hannibal Lecter but that's just me.

"Potential side effects may include choking to death and turning into a rotting corpse. Consult your physician if the potentially life-ending drug Gabapentin is right for you."

Thank God it wasn't Steve King. Then we'd have to give him back and wouldn't THAT be awkward?

If and when Trump doesn't get convicted and expelled from office in the Senate, it won't be for lack of evidence against him or a body of evidence that exculpates him. It'll be because the entire Republican caucus collectively has the spine of an earthworm.

One was a party of rigid but abstract ideology. The other was a party of identity and equality. All that's changing.

White House ordered Pentagon to withhold Ukraine aid two hours after Trump got off the phone with Zelensky, according to the newly-obtained #Ukrainedocs.

"Pardons aren't an exact science"?! He put Kentucky's worst convicted felons back on the streets, including murderers and pedophiles, one whose family gave him $21,500.

If Russian state media's criticizing the impeachment, can Russian intelligence be far behind? They've proved they'd meddled in our election, why not the impeachment process?

         Meme intermission.

How did this treasonous, mouth-foaming, ultra right wing asshole ever get elected to public office?

The Senate's not shut down. When we weren't looking, McConnell rammed another 12 right wing ideologues through into the federal courts. But an election security funding bill was too "partisan" for him.

Space Force now exists... on paper. So what's he going to do now, let Putin train his death ray satellites on our major cities in the spirit of international cooperation?

How small children develop a fear of clowns.

It's oddly appropriate that Donald Trump would plan to put his presidential library in a Florida trailer park. Yes, a trailer park.

The reason why Trump didn't like Obama golfing is because he grew up in a world when black men were only allowed on golf courses as groundskeepers or caddies. But if an orangey white man does it three times as often, that's his due.

Why, I expected better of the daughter of a shipping magnate who owns a ship that was caught transporting nearly 100 lbs of cocaine.

"For anyone that accuses us of instituting purity tests, it's called having values. It's called giving a damn." Damn straight. We're sick and tired of the impurities in our government.

Shorter Charlie McCarthy: "Pelosi won't let us rig the trial! Wah!"

Again, a lot of those jobs are low-paying, minimum wage dead end temp jobs that just get recycled into each monthly jobs report.

I see the usual right wing scumbaggery continues apace.

Dude, anyone who thinks $185 for a bottle of wine is modestly priced is an elitist scumbag (Most of the ones I get are $11.99 or less). And just because you're not rich, it doesn't mean there weren't millionaires & billionaires holding their checkbooks in that #winecave just ready to buy #WineCavePete.

Mizz Lindsey then made a ball gown out of the drapes and vowed to never leave Tara.

Sweetie, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him if and when he finally let loose with that turd he's been holding in since he was impeached.

The Help Me messages from Chinese prison laborers are still streaming into the West.

"I do not sell access to my time."
         Until you do.

Machine Democrats still don't get it. Big money in politics is a corrosive influence that rich people give to politicians and political candidates to buy their way into the State Department, other parts of the government and to shape policy to benefit them and their friends. So fuck Van Jones calling Warren's refusal to court the wealthy (which isn't true. See post below) "elitist". Thinking that being bought by the system is the way to beat the system just dooms us to more influence-peddling. It's like saying you can put out a gasoline fire by pouring more gasoline on it and hoping the accelerent will finally douse the flames. And finally...

It's not so much loyalty to Ill Douche that keeps them on his side. They just have parochial interests to protect and they're terrified of being primaried and losing.

"Heartless, miserable, mean, despised, angry, bitter, selfish."

Can also describe Republican voters and mainstream Dems in 2016 when they rigged the primaries against Sanders and after Trump upset Clinton.

I expect to see more infighting among the Dem candidates next year.
