What's Playing on the Intertubz?
My heroes are now on the final leg of their journey to catching the Gamesman in my new thriller, A GAME OF HANGMAN, So this digest is all I have time for right now, peeps.
Just a coincidence, I'm sure, but the late Cambridge Analytica's primary funder, Rebekah Mercer (Robert Mercer's daughter) joined a shadowy new firm called Emerdata last month. When she filed British government paperwork, she used Cambridge Analytica's New York address.
Oops...
Meanwhile, Fuckerberg's promising a probe of Cambridge Analytica's
illegal activities with our Facebook data. And, with corporate America's
history of self-policing, I'm sure that internal probe will be
COMPLETELY transparent.
And what's Emerdata? Why, I'm glad you asked! Because, as Deep Throat once famously said, "Follow the money." So we should follow the Mercer's money and keep an eye on Emerdata, the scumbag data firm that arose from the ashes of Cambridge Analytica. The Mercers wouldn't've poured all that dough into this company if they intended to sit out this November's midterms and the 2020 election. And. really, any company with connections to Erik Prince is one that needs to be closely watched if not outright regulated.
I'm tellin' ya, ya just can't write this shit.
Ty Cobb's out. Bill Clinton's old impeachment lawyer, Emmet Flood, is in. He's about to fire Mueller (or try to) and this virtually proves it. Once Mueller hands down the rest of the indictments, even Mike Pence will deny ever having met Trump.
The tax scam bill doesn't create jobs, after all? Well, thank you, Senator Obvious. The only problem is, less than a month ago, Rubio said the exact opposite when he said in Jacksonville on April 5th, “When a business is able to keep more of the money that they are earning, they’re able to reinvest it. That reinvestment creates jobs, not just in that business but in all the businesses that support them. Those jobs become taxpayers.” Oops.
I beat Steve Benen by several days by bringing up the irony that in the good old days, politicians usually did jail time AFTER their time in office, not before. But I love his phrase "convict caucus." Because in this election cycle alone, six jailbirds and convicted felons are running for federal office.
Meanwhile in Michigan. Il Douche took a break from publicly manufacturing his 5.9 lies a day to let loose a nugget of truth when he admitted that if the Democrats prevail in the midterms (and they will), he'll get impeached.
Only a right wing banana republic dictatorship would think that by removing "freedom of the press" and replacing it with "religious liberty" in the DOJ's prosecutor handbook that it will also overwrite the US Constitution.
While right wingers are screaming about Michelle Wolf at the White House Correspondents' Dinner giving Sarah Fuckabee Sanders the sads, real wolves and other Arctic animals are about to get rear-ended by Trump's Interior Department, which is a mere gateway for the oil cartels. Because the Bureau of Land Mismanagement is about to green light oil drilling in the Arctic's ANWR, for decades one of the right's wing's wettest dreams.
Remember when right wing budget chickenhawks were screaming about Obama creating a trillion dollar debt that he didn't? Well, predictably the same right wing budget chicekhawk's have been completely silent on Trump's Treasury borrowing almost a half a trillion dollars in the first quarter of this year, an alltime record. And that was $47,000,000,000 more than they expected to borrow. That means at the rate Trump's going, at the same time he and Congress just handed over $1.4 trillion in tax cuts to the least needy and deserving, we're on pace to borrow $2,000,000,000,000 this year alone.
...which, predictably, triggers spending cuts like this, as proposed by the triple ultra right wing Death to the 99% Caucus. Which, of course, was the plan all along. Empty the Treasury for their employers then have the poors refill it with money that used to be part of our social safety net. Because we all must pitch in during an economic emergency such as this.
Oh, so Bornstein, who's an even bigger joke than Ronnie Jackson, felt raped after the Gestapo-like raid on his office? Imagine how those women felt after they were actually raped by Trump.
Oh and speaking of America's worst doctor, today he told CNN that Trump dictated the letter claiming Trump was "da healthiest President of'all time, I dunno, dat's what dey say." Just like he dictated Donny Dumbo Junior's letter that the Russian meeting at Trump Tower was really about adopting Russian children. Sure he did. Because that's what dictators do. They dictate
And finally, the Space Force is not only back, it'll be a 6th branch of the DoD. The looks on the faces of some of these Army football players are priceless.

On that tax bill - US citizens/"residents" living and working in Canada owning a Canadian corporation (using US legislation for decades of "prudent tax planning") are being royally f**k*d (in one case over $22 million unexpected tax bill) by that great "create jobs" US tax legislation (retroactive to 1986!) that ain't creating squat in terms of jobs - except to maybe screw generations of US taxpayers and those needing medical care.
Note to President Trump - there's a reason that good legislation takes longer to create than a tweet!

You mean a real doctor didn't believe that Trump was going to be the healthiest person ever elected to the Presidency?
This sounds like a job for... Space Force!
I bet you the Democrats, even if they retake Congress, will back down from impeaching Trump by offering some lame excuse.
They hardly achieved anything when they controlled Congress and the White House from 2009 to 2010. Why should they change now?
CC:
Exactly. You give those assholes a half a chance, they will always find some way to brilliantly snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. They controlled both chambers of Congress during Obama's first two years. And what happened? They passed a raft of legislation in the first 100 hours and locked out Republicans. Then they didn't build on that. Hell, Pelosi was one of the ones who'd said we shouldn't go after Bush because Pelosi and the machine Democrats are always anxious to prove they're beyond partisanship. At least the GOP doesn't bother with such ridiculous pretenses. They're hyper-partisan to their DNA and they make no bones about that.
That's why I call the Dems Tammany Hall 2.0. In a lot of ways, they're more corrupt than the Democrats of 19th century New York.
