Gotham City Digest

(Maestro, cue the calliope.)

Trump may have known over a day earlier that he was sick with COVID-19 before his announcement on Twitter late Thursday night.

Trump's doctors are lying to us.

     They're STILL lying to us.

When did Missouri become the Don't Show Me the Facts state?

And another Republican bites the dust.

"Secret Service agents expressed their anger and frustration to colleagues and friends Friday, saying that the president’s actions have repeatedly put them at risk. 'He’s never cared about us,' one agent told a confidant..."

The timeline all but proves Trump knew he was infected with COVID as far back as Wednesday morning, about 12 hours after the debate in Cleveland (meaning he almost surely would've had the virus that night). That evening, Trump held a rally in Duluth, MN then attended a fundraiser in New Jersey before going back to the Capitol. In other words, even knowing he was sick with COVID-19, Trump still went to three states and DC all without a mask. Because in right wing circles, the shit show must go on.

I said pretty much the same thing in my latest article.

      Your Brad o' the day.

The best idea Lindsey Graham has had in his entire political career.

“The complaint filed against Attorney General Paxton was done to impede an ongoing investigation into criminal wrongdoing by public officials including employees of this office. Making false claims is a very serious matter and we plan to investigate this to the fullest extent of the law.” Because this office needs to know how they found out about my bribery and gross abuse of that office.

"(T)here is a long and venerable tradition of ill or medically infirmed senators being wheeled in to cast critical votes on the Senate floor.”  Tom Cotton

In order to understand history, one has to try as best they can to see it through the eyes of those who'd lived it, as well as, as Søren Kierkegaard once famously put it, to be lived forwards but retroactively viewed backwards. And, considering how bizarre this year and these last few years have been under Trump, our descendants will struggle to understand today.

SNL came back just in the nick of time.

"The president who once dictated his own doctor’s note is now asking a worried nation to trust his doctors’ notes." That's the best lede I've read in years.

     Cartoon intermission.

If we don't make it to the 22nd century, it'll be because of these fucking morons and our willingness to allow them to supplant the truth with their conspiracy theories.

These insects are the Trump fans of the insect world.

Katana Karen strikes again. (Tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)

Who the fuck is this right wing meathead and why should we care what he thinks? He punches people in the face for a living. He's like a mafia thug only with a gaudier belt. (Another tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)

Trump is being haunted by the ghost of a dead friend who died from COVID-19.
You can be forgiven for thinking about Scrooge and Jacob Marley

This was Chief of Staff  Mark Meadows yesterday at the daily Walter Reed propaganda briefing. This is the very iconic picture of Republican defeat.

"Historic Moments in History." Get your Trump Commemorative Coin now for the low, low price just $100. (The product code is, I'm not making this up, TRUMP-DEFEATS-COVID).

So, in TrumpWorld, doctors lying to the American public is an American tradition.

He's in Ohio, he's in Minnesota, he's in New Jersey, he's in the White House, he's in Maryland, he's out, he's going back to the hospital, he's the Scarlet fucking Pimpernel!

"Don't tell anyone." Yeah, about that "total transparency" the Comms Director was crowing about yesterday on Fox...

The NYT just gave Trump a legitimate reason to bash them. (A third tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)

The anti-science, anti-reason, warped, contorted world view, all centered around one man. That's a cult.

"We don’t want to see this man on steroids."

White House sick call, day four. Kayleigh's got it.

Shorter Erin Perrine: "Joe Biden wasn't stupid enough to get this virus like Trump was, so he lacks trustworthiness."

Don't blame me. I voted for Kodos!

I never thought Fredo and I would ever see eye to eye on anything but politics, strange bedfellows and all that...

"Don't be afraid of Covid." No, he doesn't get it. He never will get it.

Trump wants to go back to an empty building.

Aaaaand yet another God bag bites the dust.

A guy who's confident he's going to win wouldn't be doing this, brow-beating local elections officials with threats and propaganda.

Now two housekeepers in the West Wing have coronavirus. They were told to keep it on the downlow.

A pale, rumpled Donald Trump tells us not to take COVID-19 seriously even as he fights it in a hospital. Once a sociopath, always a sociopath.

He still has it, genius. But yeah, this will give you that come from behind win you so desperately need.

The pro-Russian agent who handed Ron Johnson that bullshit "report" on Joe Biden just had his passport and visa revoked by the State Department. Boy, the news just keepx getting better for Trump stooge Johnson, who also has COVID-19. And finally...

Executives are lunatics, pure and simple. Exxon is planning on raising their carbon dioxide emissions because our administration lets them.
