Steele on Limbaugh: "Incendiary" and "Ugly."
Despite the fact that my heart is breaking over what may or may not become of me, when I read this on Politico, it brought a small, savage smile to my face.
The same night that conservative pundit and sex tourist Rush Limbaugh was delivering the keynote address at the Carnival of Pathetic Ass Clowns (CPAC), RNC chairman Michael Steele was jabbing el Rushbo on CNN. At one point during the interview, Steele said, “Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh, his whole thing is entertainment. Yes it’s incendiary, yes it’s ugly.”
It was a clever jab for this otherwise fulltime Uncle Tom, not for stating the obvious that his program is "incendiary" and "ugly" but in minimizing him as a mere entertainer. It's reminiscent of Keith Olbermann reducing Limbaugh to a comedian (an insult to real comedians toiling in night clubs because many of them are actually amusing and provide real insight).
I fully expect Steele, like Phil Gingrey, to capitulate and give Rush some Viagra-assisted head on his radio show within the week. Republicans and Democrats alike capitulated and publicly groveled after speaking truth to power and calling Bush out for what he truly was.
But for now, it's nice to see another high-ranking African American (after President Obama) take a potshot at the most rabidly closet racist on the American airwaves. It's high fucking time we all start pushing back.

As Mike Malloy says:
"Keep it lit."
even without the prospect of a sale, i'd love to hear more from flannigan and the lads.
Mike's kinda of owned by Ari at the moment. And I wouldn't expect too much more out of me in the immediate future.
UPDATE - 6:20PM ET: Michael Steele has apologized to Rush Limbaugh for referring to him as an "entertainer" who can be "ugly" and "incendiary," Mike Allen reports.
"My intent was not to go after Rush - I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh," Steele said. "I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. ... There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership."
