A Legal Holocaust
To put it simply, the last 13 1/2 minutes of this video by John McTiernan (director of Die Hard) is needed to show the names of all the people, overwhelmingly Democratic office-holders, who had been targeted by Karl Rove and the Bush Justice Department. It reads like a roll call of the victims of 9/11.
It wasn't all about former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.
If you have about 53 minutes to spare, watch this video, The Political Prosecutions of Karl Rove, and prepare to be outraged at not just what Karl Rove and the Bush DOJ had done to countless hundreds if not thousands of families but at how much the mainstream media has not told you about the most massive Democratic witch hunt in American history. That the Democrats were able to still prevail and achieve majorities in both houses of Congress in 2006 and to win back the White House two years later is nothing short of a miracle.
One legal scholar holds out a hope that the new president will go after those responsible, to impeach and remove the Federalist Society judges who had been permitted to hear up to 90% of these bogus cases and to disbar the lawyers involved.
I know of not one who has been prosecuted by the Obama Justice Department.
The final impression one gets is that the DOJ can be used for partisan witch hunts yet cannot be counted on to perform its true function and to prosecute and convict the guilty no matter what party is in charge.
