The Tiny Handmaid's Tale
On, appropriately, Friday the 13th, the Trump Rolling Dumpster Fire World Tour continues apace. And in the space of a few hours, Donald Trump:
Insulted CNN yet again by calling them (yawn) "fake news", refused to call on Jim Acosta then picked John Roberts of Fox (which was banned from British TV last November for broadcasting "fake news.").
Said in an interview with the tabloid Sun that recently-resigned Foreign Minister Boris Johnson "would make a great PM" and that Theresa May fucked up the Brexit move by opening up negotiations with European Union leaders.
Then he cravenly called his recorded interview with the Murdoch-owned Sun "fake news" while May stood next to him.
Then, during the same presser in Buckinghamshire, Trump had another senior moment and said of the recent NATO talks, "And... we was do it... and I'm gonna do it."
Then during the same presser, he insulted London Mayor Sadiq Khan for how he
Then (yes, same presser) he said he was "excited" to meet with Putin.
Then Trump made wait for him for 10 minutes one of the most venerated people on the planet, the reigning monarch of Great Britain for the last 65 years, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
But to be fair to His Majesty, King Blump, he was probably late while he had the driver stop the Beast so he could kick his feet and scream after he got wind of this:
Yes, that again. There's a longstanding policy in the Beltway to never criticize a sitting president while he's abroad but that doesn't stop the indictments from coming in. And who was indicted this time? Let's take a look:
And who are those 12 august-sounding gentlemen? Oh, just high-ranking Russian military intelligence officials announced by Rod Rosenstein as Trump was blundering his way to Windsor Castle to have tea with the Queen. They were "accused of hacking the Democratic National Committee, the Clinton presidential campaign and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee." That would be 12 highly-placed members of the GRU who are under the direct control of one Vladimir Putin, former KGB official.
Of course, as far as Russia's concerned. the indictments are largely ceremonial as were the first 13 indictments handed down to other Russians. But here on the home front, their testimony, cooperation or punishment is not important. What is important is whether or not Trump campaign officials conspired with these spooks to throw the 2016 election by hacking into the DNC, DCCC and the Clinton campaign.
And I think we know what the answer to that is, comrades.
Yes, Trump's got a lot to answer for when he meets his boss for his employee performance review after London.
By now, I'm sure Mike Pence knows the length of the Oval Office drapes down to the exact millimeter.
