     I wouldn't get too excited about this. As anyone who's worked in law enforcement can tell you, a case can technically be open without actually being actively investigated. It's pretty tough to investigate and prosecute a case without the evidence, which Bragg had long since sent back to the witnesses. It's not as if Fat Alvin got religion. He's just trying to take the heat off himself.
