Gotham City Digest

(The 45 is his IQ.)

I shouldn't have to belabor the issue that the United States in both the business and political arenas is run by a rabidly avaricious pack of assclowns, con men and piano wire artists. Multiple trillions of dollars of what's usually blood money of one kind or the other change hands every day. There's just enough honest commerce so that the whole damned house of cards doesn't come crashing down.
But this story threw even me for a loop. Illinois city officials are racing down the highway to meet middle men in parking lots to buy medical supplies they're not getting from DC. After this $3.5 million transaction took place, they did it again with a $3.7 million check in hand.
Illinois is literally reduced to buying millions of dollars of medical equipment out of cars from shady characters who "know a guy."

If Trump fought coronavirus half as well as he fights the press, we wouldn't be the sick man of North America.

This senile old fool can't even distinguish between his wife & sister and he's going to pick a Cabinet? And asking Obama about Cabinet advice? Obama got his Cabinet choices from a fucking bank! (Tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)

Once again, a government employee who does the right thing by the people gets the axe by our criminal-coddling "president". There is rich irony to be mined here between Trump's treatment of Captain Crozier, who tried to save his crew, and Chief Eddie Gallagher, who murdered innocent women and children.

     Meme intermission.

I don't know what the fuck Elizabeth Warren was shooting into her veins but she's letting her gray right wing roots show. What leadership has Biden showed despite saying the pandemic hasn't softened his opposition to Medicare For All? (A second tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant reader, CC.)

Apparently, what kind of democracy you have, if you'll have one at all, depends on what state you live in. Is this is the way democracy is supposed to be? Seriously, this is taking the right wing obsession with states' rights to ridiculous and dangerous extremes. We need a federally-mandated, uniform voter law that applies to all states.

Right wing rag lambastes Trump for his disastrous response to the coronavirus pandemic.

If you're part of the 25% of the American work force protected by the $2.2 trillion stimulus bill's paid leave provision, well, sorry. You're not any more. The Trump maladministration just quietly stole that from you like the thieves in the night they are.

Yet another example of the casual cruelty of this shitshow of an administration. Trump sent 20,000 National Guard troops into harm's way without giving them health coverage.

Trump just fired the Intelligence Inspector General. He happens to be the same guy who'd brought the original whistleblower report to the attention of Congress.

Now countries like Italy are openly floatng the idea of genetic profiling to determine who gets to work and who doesn't (Even Coumo's floated such an idea.).
Not a single word in this article was devoted to the question of how to financially support those deemed not worthy of employment, or the possibility of synthesizing, mass producing and inoculating those who don't have the necessary antibodies immunizing those against coronavirus. Or what they'll do if in the event these immune workers contract another virus or disease.
      Brave New World, anyone?

You may or may not have seen that we literally hijacked a plane like Somali pirates of medical supplies that were bound for Germany. Two days ago, we did the same thing to Canada.

The stigmatizing of New Yorkers. Even though I've lived in Massachusetts for close to 43 years, I still have a strong accent and I'm just waiting for someone here to hold my being a native New Yorker against me. (Another tip o' the tinfoil hat to Constant Reader, CC.)

       28,000 loans, my ass.

In 6000 years of human history, we've progressed this far: We've gone from burning witches to burning cell phone towers.

There's no scum quite like Wisconsin Republican scum.

Shit, now Captain Crozier's got it. Well, he did try to warn naval commanders.

"Look, y'all, I don't know shit about this here coronavirus, so I'm just gonna reopen the beaches."

When corporate scum do this, they just make the case for Medicare For All. Right wingers are always screaming about their tax dollars getting used to treat those with pre-existing conditions. Well, how do they feel about this?

No, he doesn't have a plan. Isn't that screamingly obvious by now?

On the same day Trump fired the Inspector General that broke the Ukraine scandal, he announced he was nominating one of his shysters for the role of IG for coronavirus relief.
Yeah, this will end well. And finally...

Then last Friday there was this priceless quip.

Actually, Biden is just as scummy as the Repubs in Wisconsin. He supports holding the primary today.

Will primary voters remember that or will they simply do what the Dem establishment wants them to do because the alternative is a Trump victory in November?
