     My personal thoughts? I think, as with 1918, we'll only finally wake up and start taking this shit seriously as a nation when the virus recedes and comes back in the fall. Hours after DeSantis reopened the beaches in Florida, THEY were packed, because we'd rather risk losing our lives than our way of life.

     We will not learn until the death toll climbs into the millions. Then maybe we'll get smart and gun down these rabid anti-lockdown protesters when they continue their pity parties instead of treating them with kid gloves and observing their gun rights moreso than public safety.

    While much wasn't made of it at the time, I think what happened last week with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners president, when she spoke with the orange lump only pretending to be one was the most shameful moment since this pandemic hit us. While she told him her nurses were running short on PPE, Trump turned his back to her, put on his bored toddler face, crossed his arms over his bloated gut and flatly contradicted her.
     The very sight of that fat fuck sitting behind the Resolute Desk, where REAL presidents had made REAL decisions for the American people, flatly contradicting a nurse complaining about the lack of supplies from a federal government that had long since been dismantled should've enraged every American. It was the perfect synecdoche, the very distillation of this pedophile pretender's attitude toward a crisis with which he doesn't feel he should have to deal except when he can rob someone of some credit for something in an election year.

   You can't prove a false positive any more than you can prove a false negative. Hindsight only works in this case after you count the dead bodies and play armchair president. Yeah, Trump could've saved about 90% of the 100,000 that have died from this virus with earlier action. Yet he wasn't interested in something he couldn't take to the goobers at his hate rallies. Now he's reduced to bragging about lives that he hasn't actually saved and can't prove he saved.
